Scrap your Halloween Memories & a Prize Winner!

Today is our Final day of Trick or Treat Blog Series!
We hope you have enjoyed all the inspiration from our fabulous team! We have had fun creating and sharing with you. Today we have some great Layout tutorials for all those Halloween pictures and memories you want to document!

Trick or Treat Mixed Media Layout
by Nadine Carlier

1. Using a stencil and some modeling paste create some designs onto a piece of Kraft cardstock. Once dry spray some color mists around the areas you used the stencil and spray some water holding your paper up on its side to let the color mists and water run down the paper. Dry and then flick some different colors of color mist onto the paper with a paint brush. Cut the kraft cardstock piece down about a 1/4 inch on all sides and adhere to another piece of cardstock. This will also help with any warping that the kraft cardstock may have from the using the paste and sprays.

2. Remove the string from the mini canvas bag and replace with a fun colored ribbon of your choice. Grunge it up by rubbing some distress ink on it make some random folds and adhere it so the bag has creases in it. Cut up some fun papers or die cuts and adhere to the bag so it looks like they are popping out of the bag.  For the spider, I colored it with some black soot distress ink and then used some clear embossing powder over it to give it a shiny look.
3. Adhere the canvas bag to your page and layer up some random pieces of scrap papers and die cuts and adhere over the canvas bag with som 3D foam adhesives and you are done.

Boo, Eek Layout by Valerie Bishop

I layered a piece of 10" x 10" white cardstock on top of the "Pumpkin" piece of Crate Paper which acted as a frame for my layout. I used a couple of photobooth pictures that I took with my younger daughter last year and layered several pieces of different "After Dark" Crate Paper pieces under each photo creating a mini group of similar yet different groupings for each one. I used a tag on one side of each grouping cut from the tag piece of Crate Paper
I punched a hole in the top of each tag and threaded a piece of the smaller ribbon through each one. I used one of the tags to include my journaling which I typed using my antique typewriter. After choosing where I wanted each grouping I found and resized a bat border from the Silhouette America store and cut it from a piece of glitter paper  and layered it across the middle of my layout. I then sprinkled some spray mists in the white spaces and layered my titles using the glitter Halloween Thickers. I also layered on some of the glitter Halloween shapes from the Thickers set around my layout to give it more dimension and interest.

Bonus Spotlight Project by Susan Liles
This card was featured  from a previous Fetti Fans Card Class at The Little Blue House.
We love it so much that we wanted to spotlight it on the Blog today!

Reverse Confetti released a Too Cute to Spook Stamp set  and its  absolutely adorable, it includes a sweet and easy to color kitty (we all know how much we LOVE to color right about now!) plus several accessories and a few sentiments.  All the accessories are separate stamps in the set, so that the cat can be used alone and not as strictly a Halloween set. Too Cute to Spook Confetti Cut also come in handy here so not fussy cutting is involved.  This time, she's flying along and underneath a new Confetti Cuts die set, the Double Scallop Garland with a background from our quick card panel set "Happy Boo Day" You can find all of these Reverse Confetti Products at The Little Blue House!

Thank you so much for joining us today!
We hope you are inspired to make some spooktacular Halloween projects!

TREATS TREATS AND MORE TREATS!

Halloween is creeping up on us! Today we are sharing 3 fun treat bag ideas perfect for all ghouls and goblins!!

Treat Sack designed by Susan Tidwell

Let's start with this the little Halloween Tags- apply Black Diamond Stickles to title on tag, add glitter star stickers and ink edge with black ink. Set aside to dry. Tear a piece of cheesecloth and add to bag with very little Mod Podge to create fun texture!

Now sponge white paint over a spider web “fragment” stencil on black cardstock.
When dry, cut around outer edge and glue in place over cheesecloth. Make a button spider by stacking and glueing together two black shiny buttons and add 2 tiny googly eyes.
Cut eight pieces of black wire about 1 1/2” long and curl one end with pliers.
Glue in place under buttons. Glue spider to center of web.
Once you add treats to the little sack, fold over top, punch two holes and tie ribbon into one knot. Lay a strip of cheesecloth over knot and then tie ribbon into a bow.
Fluff and shred cheesecloth into a “bow.”
Add decorated tag.

Boo! to You Shaker Treat Bag

Boo Shaker Treat Bag designed by Natalie Sheeran
Cut apart ghost of the "boo to you" journal card from the Pebbles- Boo! collection and trim the top ends off to make it look like a tag. Adhere scrap piece of acetate to bag of "Boo to You" journal tag.
Place pop dots around the ghost cut, use the pop dots to secure the  "shaker" area, sprinkle glitter or sequins then close the opening with more pop dots.
Adhere treat bag to Boo tag. Glue 2 goggly eyes on top of the acetate to give some character to your ghost!

Fall Cloth Bag designed by Valerie Bishop
For the cloth goodie bag I first watercolored it using my cake watercolors.
I got the colors really juicy with water and using a thick watercolor brush I made stripes across the dry bag alternating yellow, orange and brown letting the colors run together at their edges. After letting the bag dry I stamped some leaves (using a set of the Illustrated Faith stamps) I used Brown and yellow Stazon inks making sure to stamp really hard to insure that the image would stamp clearly.

I had a piece of wood in my stash  that  I thought really went well with a fall theme and I stamped a sentiment on it (using a set from Elle's Studio) then glued it to the bag using Glossy Accents. I inserted a piece of plastic into the bag to prevent the bag from sticking together while the glue dried.

Thanks for visiting the Blog today!
We hope these projects inspire you to create a fun treat bag this week for a friends, neighbor or kiddo!

Happy Halloween Minibook & a Prize Winner!

Happy Halloween LBH Friends!!
We have another fun Halloween project to share with you today! This project is a cute little Halloween mini-book designed by Rhonda Merry

For this little mini, I gathered some pumpkin orange and deep black cardstock and some sparkly green tulle to go along with the Carta Bella Papers.  But first to create the book I cut five 4x8 pieces of the black cards stock. Then fold them in half for your pages.  To bind I used some elastic hair ties. Like these.
Place two of the folded sheets left side of one to right side of the next and place an elastic securing the two page at the folded edges. Continue for all five folded pieces to form book.
Cut out orange and patterned squares to a 3-1/2” X 3-1/2” size, then distress and ink all edges, using Quick Quotes Orange Slice chalk ink. I used the Carta Bella cut-a-parts,some other coordinating papers and embellishments from Carta Bella- Trick or Treat and Crate Paper- After Dark collections. You can find all of these products at  The Little Blue House!

Here are the pages I created.

To create the ghost, punch a 1” circle and wrap a 4”x4” piece of cheese cloth around the circle and secure with an elastic band

Fussy cut Jack-o-lanterns, stamp sentiment from the Reverse Confetti stamp set-Shine Bright onto yellow cardstock. Created a pocket with the Checker paper and added a tag with some trim on the top embellished with a wood veneer bat from Crate Paper.
Added some Gold Halloween Thickers from American Crafts.

Punch and glitter a 2” yellow circle. Add two glitter pumpkins and add some Stickles Faces. A little Glossy Accents Dimensional Adhesive was added to the bat.
Title pieces were cut from the Journal Cards and the masks were added to some toothpicks.  Leaves were cut using the Reverse Confetti Leafy Confetti Cuts.
I hope you enjoyed this fun Halloween mini-book tutorial from Rhonda! Come by the LBH to see this project in person and pick up all your goodies to create with!!!!

"You've been Booed' Door Hanger Ideas

Are you counting down the Days till Halloween!?!
We have 2 fun project ideas to share with you today!
Let's get Started!
You Have Been "BOO'ED" Treat Door Hanger by Nadine Carlier
1. Using a 12x12 piece of paper I used products from the Carta Bella- Trick or Treat Collection and rolling it into a cone and adhering it with a quick drying glue.
I used a hot glue gun.

2. Trim the top of the cone so it's even. Cut two small circles from a scrap piece of cardstock glue them onto the sides of the cone at the top and punch a hole in each side. Then using a piece of wire connect it to each side of the cone.

3.  Hot glue a piece of ribbon  from the LBH around the top part of the cone, scrunching it up slightly so it has a ruffled effect.

4. Take about a 6 inch piece of ribbon and fold in half.
Cut up into the folded ribbon creating strips leave about a half inch uncut at the folded area of the ribbon.
5.  Roll the ribbon piece up and glue into the end of the cone

.6. Embellish as desired, add some yummy treats. Surprise your co-worker, neighbor or friend with this Sweet Treat!

“You’ve been BOOed” Door Hanger
by Susan Tidwell
Don’t you love the Halloween tradition of secretly delivering treats to neighbors on their front step with a note that they’ve been “Booed”? Here is a super cute project for delivering these treats in style.

Roll a full 12”x12” piece of double-sided patterned paper into a cone. I used the Crate Paper- After Dark Collection. Use Scor-tape to secure the edge. Trim around the top.Punch two holes at top and thread ribbon through holes from front to create a hanger. Knot ends so they do not pull through the holes.I inked the edges of the tag with black ink. Add Orange and Diamond Stickles where desired to decorate tag. Tie to one side of the handle. Tie two bows with a coordinating ribbon at base of hanger.

Cut 4 12”x1 1/2” strips of coordinating paper and score entire length of each at 1/2” intervals. Fold at score lines.
Add Scor-tape all around open edge of cone and position 2 strips over tape around opening. Pinch into “pleats” as you go. Add Black Stickles around lower edge of “ruffle."
Glue two remaining strips together end-to-end to form a circle and create a rosette. Add Black Stickles to edge.

Cut kraft tag into a 1 3/4” x 5 1/2” strip. Dove tail the ends. Add Orange Stickles around edge. When dry, add “BOO” glitter stickers, 3 glitter star stickers and handwrite “You’ve been” to the left of BOO and add “ ‘d “ to right.
Glue kraft banner to center of rosette and rosette to center of cone. Fill with treats and hang on the doorknob of a special friend or neighbor!

I love both of these Boo Door Hanger Ideas! It's a fun way to surprise your friend, co-worker or neighbor with a sweet treat!
