Blue House Art Group Meets Next Week!

It's time once again for our Art Group meetings!

Wednesday, Sept. 7, 6pm - 9pm

or Friday, Sept. 9, 10am - 1pm

Call the LBH today to reserve your spot.

This month we will be creating all sorts of fun embellishments to add to our art journals using

two Ranger products - 

Clearly for Art Molding Film

and

Shrink Plastic.

The list of supplies is short:

basic supplies, including scissors

Heat gun if you have one

Staz On ink pad - black or colors

few scraps of patterned papers

few favorite stamps (all-over patterns and some larger images - for shrinking)

ATC Summer Theme Swap

Create ten (10) ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) with a summer theme. You will keep one and swap nine.  The only rule is size:  3 1/2" HIGH by 2 1/2" WIDE (vertical orientation)

If you are unable to attend the meeting, please drop your ATCs by the store and we will swap them out for you.

Announcing LBH Art Group ATC Swap

LBH Art Group ATC Swap

ATCs are Artist Trading Cards - mini works of art. They are traded among artists and are a fun way to try out new techniques and see what others come up with.

Here's the information for our newest swap (and you don't have to be part of the art group to participate!):

WHAT:  Create ten (10) ATCs to share. (They may all be different but it's easier to make one design!) You will receive 10 different ATCs back.

WHEN:  Due by September Art Group meetings. (If you won't be there, please drop your ATCs by the Little Blue House prior to then and we will swap them out along with the others.)

HOW:  The theme for this swap is "Summer." Create whatever this theme inspires you to make. Size   must be 3 1/2" tall by 2 1/2" wide (this will be a vertical orientation).  They may include dimensional embellishments, but not too 3D - some people store these in pockets.

WHO:   Anyone may participate!

WHERE: LBH of course!

Announcing LBH Art Group Napkin Swap

Everyone had fun at last week's Art Group, continuing to work on their "junky" journals.  We had almost a full house!  Next month we will learn more techniques to add to the books and anyone is welcome to join us.  It is easy to jump right in and play with the techniques each month and we can catch you up on making the base of your book.

We are having a napkin swap!  If you've recently looked in the napkin aisle of your favorite store, there are amazing designs out there! Anyone who wants to participate should bring a minimum of twenty (20) to twenty-four (24) cocktail size napkins to the August meeting. Also bring a paper lunch sack or ziploc baggie with your name on it.  You will receive the same number of assorted napkins back (one from each swapper) and have a fabulous variety to use in future projects!  (Note, the napkins don't have to be all one pattern. If you have assorted ones around the house and don't want to buy a package, feel free to bring those.)

If you're unable to come to the meeting and want to participate, please drop off your napkins at the LBH BEFORE the meetings.

Now keep your eyes open for some beautiful napkins. Can't wait to see them!
