Happy Halloween Minibook & a Prize Winner!

 

Happy Halloween LBH Friends!!

We have another fun Halloween project to share with you today! This project is a cute little Halloween mini-book designed by Rhonda Merry

 

 

For this little mini, I gathered some pumpkin orange and deep black cardstock and some sparkly green tulle to go along with the Carta Bella Papers.  But first to create the book I cut five 4x8 pieces of the black cards stock. Then fold them in half for your pages.  To bind I used some elastic hair ties. Like these.

Place two of the folded sheets left side of one to right side of the next and place an elastic securing the two page at the folded edges. Continue for all five folded pieces to form book.

Cut out orange and patterned squares to a 3-1/2” X 3-1/2” size, then distress and ink all edges, using Quick Quotes Orange Slice chalk ink. I used the Carta Bella cut-a-parts,some other coordinating papers and embellishments from Carta Bella- Trick or Treat and Crate Paper- After Dark collections. You can find all of these products at  The Little Blue House!

 

Here are the pages I created.

 

 

To create the ghost, punch a 1” circle and wrap a 4”x4” piece of cheese cloth around the circle and secure with an elastic band

Fussy cut Jack-o-lanterns, stamp sentiment from the Reverse Confetti stamp set-Shine Bright onto yellow cardstock. Created a pocket with the Checker paper and added a tag with some trim on the top embellished with a wood veneer bat from Crate Paper.

Added some Gold Halloween Thickers from American Crafts.

Punch and glitter a 2” yellow circle. Add two glitter pumpkins and add some Stickles Faces. A little Glossy Accents Dimensional Adhesive was added to the bat.

Title pieces were cut from the Journal Cards and the masks were added to some toothpicks.  Leaves were cut using the Reverse Confetti Leafy Confetti Cuts.

"You've been Booed' Door Hanger Ideas

Are you counting down the Days till Halloween!?!
We have 2 fun project ideas to share with you today!

Let's get Started!  

You Have Been "BOO'ED" Treat Door Hanger by Nadine Carlier

1. Using a 12x12 piece of paper I used products from the Carta Bella- Trick or Treat Collection and rolling it into a cone and adhering it with a quick drying glue.
I used a hot glue gun.

 

2. Trim the top of the cone so it's even. Cut two small circles from a scrap piece of cardstock glue them onto the sides of the cone at the top and punch a hole in each side. Then using a piece of wire connect it to each side of the cone.

 

3.  Hot glue a piece of ribbon  from the LBH around the top part of the cone, scrunching it up slightly so it has a ruffled effect.

4. Take about a 6 inch piece of ribbon and fold in half.

Cut up into the folded ribbon creating strips leave about a half inch uncut at the folded area of the ribbon.

5.  Roll the ribbon piece up and glue into the end of the cone


 

.6. Embellish as desired, add some yummy treats. Surprise your co-worker, neighbor or friend with this Sweet Treat!


 

“You’ve been BOOed” Door Hanger

Don’t you love the Halloween tradition of secretly delivering treats to neighbors on their front step with a note that they’ve been “Booed”? Here is a super cute project for delivering these treats in style.

 

Roll a full 12”x12” piece of double-sided patterned paper into a cone. I used the Crate Paper- After Dark Collection. Use Scor-tape to secure the edge. Trim around the top.Punch two holes at top and thread ribbon through holes from front to create a hanger. Knot ends so they do not pull through the holes.I inked the edges of the tag with black ink. Add Orange and Diamond Stickles where desired to decorate tag. Tie to one side of the handle. Tie two bows with a coordinating ribbon at base of hanger.

 

 

Cut 4 12”x1 1/2” strips of coordinating paper and score entire length of each at 1/2” intervals. Fold at score lines. 

Add Scor-tape all around open edge of cone and position 2 strips over tape around opening. Pinch into “pleats” as you go. Add Black Stickles around lower edge of “ruffle."

Glue two remaining strips together end-to-end to form a circle and create a rosette. Add Black Stickles to edge.
 

Cut kraft tag into a 1 3/4” x 5 1/2” strip. Dove tail the ends. Add Orange Stickles around edge. When dry, add “BOO” glitter stickers, 3 glitter star stickers and handwrite “You’ve been” to the left of BOO and add “ ‘d “ to right.

Glue kraft banner to center of rosette and rosette to center of cone. Fill with treats and hang on the doorknob of a special friend or neighbor!

 

I love both of these Boo Door Hanger Ideas! It's a fun way to surprise your friend, co-worker or neighbor with a sweet treat!

Trick or Treat October Blog Series Begins!

Happy Halloween LBH Friends!

Today starts our "Trick or Treat" October Blog Series right here on the LBH Blog! Watch the blog all month long for some Spooktacular project ideas for Halloween!!

 Today I'm sharing 3 projects I made using Halloween goodies from The Little Blue House!   

- Halloween Treat Bag-
This project features a treat bag from Crate Paper- After Dark collection.
I stamped "Spooktacular" in between the orange glitter lines on the

kraft treat bag with a Reverse Confetti Halloween Stamp set.
I got this idea from Susan Liles! I added a Doodlebug cut-apart in the center and a Doddle Pop- Ghostie to the bottom corner.
These treat bags hold a lot of candy!
Great idea for your co-workers, friends, kids, etc.

-Trick or Treat Pillow Box-

This project is another great treat holder that you can fill full of candy!! I added the Candy Corn paper and the "Trick or Treat" cut apart paper to the inside of my pillow box. Added some ribbon and a few embellishments on the outside of the box.
These pillow boxes are food safe so you could add a Halloween cookie or a homemade treat!

-BOO Banner-

This banner was super fun and easy to make. Cut your papers to the size of your choice and cut your title or use sticker letters for your title. I added fun die-cut pieces from the Doodlebug- Oct 31st collection. I stamped "Happy Halloween" from a Reverse Confetti Stamp set and added a few small jewels from Queen and Company.
Punch your holes and add your ribbon to create the banner. I decided to add a little orange glitter tulle to finish it off. You can add Wink of Stella Glitter to add some shine to your banner!
