12 Days of Ornaments: Day #11

Hello Friends!

Miss Tracy here...Welcome back to another great hand-made Ornament Tutorial! It is Day #11 of our 12 Days of Ornaments Blog Feature....can't believe how fast the days have flown by!

Today I have a special Ornie to share with you! Most of you know that I L-O-V-E to repurpose things and one of my recent projects inspired the ornament I am sharing with you today. On Sun. 12/6 and on Wed. 12/9, I will be holding a Shutter Snowman Workshop at the Little Blue House. Look how adorable these Frosty Friends are....

I had "snow" much fun making these cuties that I decided to replicate them in a miniature size! Introducing my Miniature Snowman Shutter Ornaments!!!

I have always been fond of Snowmen so these will be the perfect addition to my Christmas Tree!

Here are the items you will need to create your own Snowman Ornaments:

1 Miniature Shutter
Small Popsicle Stick
White and Black Paint
small piece of Orange Cardstock
Ribbon or Fabric for Scarf
Twine & Pom
Black dots or jewels for eyes
Hot Glue
Diamond Stickles
Glossy Accents
Black Chalk Ink or Distress Ink

**We are selling this Ornament as a KIT at the Little Blue House ...AND...this Saturday 11/28 is Small Business Saturday...We will be offering Mini "Make It" Sessions where you can come to the LBH and create one in class with me! We are scheduling 30 minute sessions beginning at 10:30am and running through 1:30pm. Cost is $5 and that covers everything you need to make your Snowman Ornament. You can call ahead to the LBH to reserve your time slot. Available only while supplies last. Hope you can come join in the fun!!!

Miss Tracy's "How To":

1. Paint your miniature shutter with white paint. Set aside to dry or speed up the process by using your heat tool to dry the paint.

2. Cut the rounded edges off of your popsicle stick. Paint Black (back and front). Paint black onto the top portion of your shutter. This portion will be your hat.  Set aside to dry or dry with your heat tool.

3. Using hot glue, attach the hat brim to the shutter as shown.
4. Lightly apply Diamond Stickles over the white part of the Snowman Shutter. Swipe across with your finger.

5. Cut a Carrot Nose from your Orange Cardstock. Ink the edges with black ink. Glue as desired onto shutter. I used a dot of hot glue to attach.
6. Attach his Eyes of Coal using a drop of Glossy Accents.

7. Cut a piece of ribbon (about 10 inches). This could be fabric if you desire. Wrap ribbon around the Snowman Shutter and tie off...don't actually knot it, just kind of overlap it and secure it in place with a dot of hot glue. Trim the tails at desired lengths.
8. Embellish his hat with some twine and a pom or whatever else you would like to use.

9. Attach the ornament hanger to the back of the Snowman's head using hot glue.

10. Add some glossy accents over his nose and set aside to dry.

11. Hang on your tree....and enjoy!

Don't these little guys just melt your heart??!??!! If you would like to WIN one of my Snowman Shutter Ornaments, please post a comment here. One lucky commenter will be chosen to WIN and announced on tomorrow's post.

Share with me one of your favorite activities to do in the Winter. I hope you enjoy this tutorial and will stop by and see us on Small Business Saturday, 11/28. Thanks for reading!!!
Come back and see us tomorrow for our final Ornament!

I AM....Creative! : Miss T's Projects

Hello Friends!
Have you seen this fabulous collection from Simple Stories?? It's simply called...I AM...two small but powerful words!

Check out this video...it's an awesome clip to explain the concept behind this collection...

I have completely fallen for this collection...I AM in love with it!!! I knew right away that I wanted to create several projects and today I'm sharing a couple of them with you.

Here's a look at a Layout I designed from the I AM  collection. I will actually be putting my photos on it...that's right ...ME! Most of us who scrapbook are always preserving memories of our family, friends, events, etc. but are usually  the person BEHIND the camera. I encourage you to document the Picture Taker...YOU...It's important to tell your story and the I AM collection helps you do just that...

I AM...
Designed by: Tracy Pounds

It is available to create in any of the LBH Buffets or to take as a Kit. It can be customized with a variety of different attributes to perfectly describe whoever you are featuring on the layout...all provided in the kit.

Here is a closer look at all the delightful details...
I love the pretty Gold metallic accents on some of the papers and embellishments...

Beautiful fonts too....I love lines that mix fonts!

I love all the descriptive words and the beautiful colors...It's such a unique collection!

I AM also a Believer and will be adding a lot of the I AM embellies and papers in some of my future Bible Journaling Entries...I think it will be a perfect addition!

In fact, I was so inspired by the papers...that I designed a NEW Tag Set for our Words for ALL Seasons Blocks & Base... "Walk by Faith". It features the bonus block which I designed to be a Magnetic Scripture Block.

There is a metal piece hidden under the pretty paper...and I made little pebble magnets to attach my printed scripture onto the block. I can now print scriptures in pretty fonts and change them out whenever I wish.

This NEW tag set is NOW available at the Little Blue House to create in any buffet or take home as a kit

I AM so excited to see the creations that YOU will make from this wonderful paper collection. I encourage you to share them on the LBH facebook page....HERE

Thank you for reading...and remember...
Stay true to your passion--Keep Creating!
Miss Tracy :)

P.S. Complete this sentence....I AM_____________

Love Bug Blog Feature begins TODAY!!!

Welcome to the 1st day of our Love Bug Blog Feature!! Each day (beginning now through Valentine's Day), our Designers will be featuring some LOVELY projects and tutorials...sure to inspire you and make your heart swoon!!!

Today, I am sharing a cute, quick,
Valentine's Day Card with you!

"Love is in the Air" Card
Designed by: Miss Tracy

This card was so easy and fun to create! I used this delightful DIE from Taylored Expressions, available now at the Little Blue House.

You will need the following items to create this card:
Sunburst Die (Taylored Expressions)
Cardstock- Red and Black (Bazzill)
Printed Paper - (Crush Collection by Authentique)
Punch-Out Piece - (Crush Collection by Authentique)
Cuttlebug or BigShot
Glue Pen - (Zig)
Wink of Stella Brush Marker - Clear

These items can all be found at the
Little Blue House and in our Online Shop at www.thelittlebluehouseonline.com

Okay, let's get started!
Begin, by cutting your red cardstock 11x4.5 - Fold in half to create base card. Using the sunburst die and your Big Shot or Cuttlebug, die cut a piece of black cardstock as shown below...

Attach the die cut to the base card
 using a glue pen...

Using the same die, die cut two printed papers. I used two papers from the Crush Collection by Authentique (available at the LBH).

I chose two prints and alternated them on the card. This step is just like putting a puzzle together. I used my glue pen to attach each piece to it's coordinating spot...

Keep going until it's all filled...

I chose to use a fun punch-out from the Crush Collection to attach to the center of my card. I used a pop dot to attach it. I wanted to add some sparkle to my card...so I grabbed my new FaVoriTe product -- my Wink of Stella Brush Marker...

I chose to use the Clear...It may be difficult to see in these photos but...my oh my...you will LOVE the shimmery effect it creates and how fast it dries...

Apply the WOS to the center piece and along all of the black die cut...the detail brush tip makes this easy to apply to the thin pieces...

You will find that you have enough pieces left after making this one card...that you can make two more! Because the printed paper is double-sided...you can make your other cards look unique...this card was created from my left-over pieces...I chose to only fill every other space on this card. The black you see is the base card and I used a red sequin heart in the center...

This card would be so easy to create for any occasion simply by selecting papers that fit your theme!

I hope you have enjoyed my cute, quick, Valentine's Day Card and tutorial today!

Stop back by tomorrow for another great LOVE BUG project and tutorial and leave a comment here today and you will be entered into a drawing for a LOVE BUG Prize Bag filled with lovely goodies!
Thanks for reading! XOXO

Have a great Saturday and Keep Creating!
Miss Tracy :)
