Hello Art Anthology fans! It’s Yasmin here today to show you a quick “how to..” use a stencil with our awesome sorbets.. and a couple of cards..
I start by choosing what I want to work with, I picked a patterend paper, a stencil with a damask pattern and the Drab sorbet. I personally think it’s easier to work with a pallet knife but you can just as easily use an old credit card or a room key and get the job done. There are so many choices in stencils these days so find a pattern you like!
Use your palet knifte to take some paint out of the bottle. Spread it on the stencil that you placed on top of the patterend paper. Spread it on with quick movements just like buttering up a slice of bread. Remember to work quickly since the paint dries fairly fast and can adhere the stencil to the paper. All extra paints can be placed back into the bottle.
Remove the stencil carefully and you have a perfect dimensional print with Sorbet paints! The Sorbets have shimmer in them and are very decorative. Allow the paint to dry before working with it.
I made a simple card with the stencil impression I made with the sorbet. I wanted the sorbet to really shine threw. I just decorated it with a rhinestone, a bit of twine and two text strips.
 My card measures 4″ x 6″.
After making my first card I had a small strip of patterned paper with the sorbet impression and I thought it was too nice to throw away. So I had to make another card with the leftovers. I added a bit more embellishments on this one like a big bow and a lot of flowers and leaves.
I hope you found my post inspiring today and will want to try some sorbets for yourself!
Have a creative day!
Yasmin
