Thin Washi Tape
Authentique Christmastime Sentimental patterned paper
2 buttons & Twine
yellow polka dot linen ribbon
dark green arty fibers
screw eye hardware
Maya Road Kraft Envelopes - white polka dot

Extra supplies used

Sand paper (small piece)
Mod Podge & Foam brush
Hot glue gun and glue
Push Pin
Ink blending tool, Vintage Photo ink

Instructions

1. Paint all sides of your wood block desired color or leave as natural wood.
2. Use thin washi tape to tape off the edges of your wood block.
3. Paint the center of the block with black chalkboard paint.
4. Cut out an image from the patterned paper.
5. Adhere image to the block using Mod Podge.
(I put Mod Podge on the back of the paper and on the block.)

6. Using sandpaper, sand around the edges of the image.
7. Use ink blending tool and ink to softly age the edges of paper.
8. Paint a thin layer of mod podge over the entire face of the block including over the image. Allow to dry.

9. Thread buttons with twine and set aside.
10. Use a push pin to make a hole in the top edge of your block. Remove pin and twist in screw eye hardware.
11. Thread ribbons, arty fibers, and the twine through the hardware.
12. Make bows with the ribbon and arty fibers. Make a loop with the twine and knot at the top for hanging.
13. Using hot glue, attach the buttons to the face of block on and next to the image.
14. Using hot glue, affix the floral stems and wood number to the center of the bows.

15. Use a tape gun to attach the kraft envelope to the face of the ornament.

16. Add a sweet note to your ornament and hang on your tree.
You can optionally skip adding the image and use the chalkboard face to add an initial or name to the block.

Merry Crafting,
Dee Dee Roe
