The 12 Days of Ornaments -- Day 4

Hello everyone -- its Kristyn!! I’m so excited to show off my glamorous Snowflake Ornament for The Little Blue House 12 days of Ornaments Extravaganza! I had so much fun playing with all the bling and Shimmerz and I hope you do too!
Let’s get started-
First, you want to paint your paper mache snowflake. I painted mine with regular white craft paint. Let your paint dry or you can use your heat gun to dry it quickly if you just can’t wait.
After your snowflake is nice and dry, apply the Shimmerz paint “Pixie Dust” to your snowflake. I painted it on with a small paintbrush. You will love the sparkle it adds!

Now for the fun part! It’s time to add your Bling! I used the “Gemstone Glue” by Helmar to attach my jewels. It works GREAT! No icky sticky glue globs anywhere to be seen. But it’s important that you only use a little bit at a time. I started with putting a big jewel on all the sides then I used the glue and brushed it on and attached my jewels to the snowflake a section at a time.
Now, look at your masterpiece!! AWW!! But wait, we aren’t done yet!! Now I used a sticker from BoBunny “Bundled Up” winter collection sticker sheet for the center of my snowflake. I backed the sticker with a piece of chipboard and then popped it up with some Helmar Zap Dots to give it some dimension.
I did the back side as well and instead of a sticker I used a picture of my nephew, Kaden, for the center. This way it looks fabulous from both sides!
I hope you enjoyed my ornament today! Stop by the LBH to pick up a paper mache snowflake of your own if you would like to re-create it!
Make sure and leave a comment…You might be the lucky person who will win this ornament! By the way…I have a question for you to answer when you post your comment…
My question is… What was your favorite present you received as a child on Christmas Day?
I have a lot of favorites but if I had to choose, it would have to be when I was 9 years old and Santa brought me my own keyboard! Mom and I played songs together on it all day long! It was so much fun!! J
Thanks for stopping by!!! Don’t forget to check the blog tomorrow for the 5th ornament!
Before I forget, I have to tell you who won Susan’s cute snowman hat ornament!!
Drum Roll Please…..

Merry Christmas!

  10. Krystn..it looks great. You know me if it sparkles and has gliimmer and bling I will love it. My favorite Christmas present was my little Tandy cat. One of my cats had gotten out and we never found him.Dan went to a rescue center the kids and I had volunteered at and picked out a new kitten for me.He brought it home on Christmas Eve as a surprise...it was the best because adding another furry friend to the house would not have been at the top of his Santa list. Thanks Krystn..

  26. Love your ornament, Kristyn!! Snowflakes are so cool @ Christmas because we don't see very many real ones at that time of year. Love the bling and the cute picture of Kaden!!!
This will really date me, but I played with dolls before Barbie or the Cabbage Patch dolls had been created!! My favorite present was a ballerina doll by Madame Alexander. It was the only Madame Alexander doll I ever received. I just asked for a ballerina doll, not expecting to get one so pretty. I know it must have been
difficult for my parents to afford her because we didn't have a lot of money, but it is the one toy I'll always remember!! (Don't ask what happened to her---I had a brother 4 years younger with lots of boisterous friends and they got into my doll box when he was 10---it was a very sad day.)
